Boredom is the only real motivator

I would like to announce my entry into the running for most pointless and unentertaining blog ever. In the disappointing spirit of my life I predict that I will not win the competition, but at least somehow qualify for the running. I don't know how to link pictures or anything, and unlike pretty much everyone else I know I don't have a camera and take lots of photos anyway. I might have to learn from my sister at some point.

I loaded World of Warcraft today and it wants me to install a patch that it says will take fifteen minutes and has barely filled up the progress bar in the last hour. It says the tracker is not responding, and when I click on it to find out what that means I get a webpage that doesn't load. So much for my summer plans. I hope that it works eventually.

Today is Nintendo day at E3 so I'm not really following it. Yesterday was Xbox day. The Xbox press conference has followed a pattern the last couple years where they begin by announcing some games for the core audience and then spend the next hour alienating the core audience with innovations that no one wanted. They're doing something called Natal, which I guess is meant to play off the popularity that the Wii has had with the casual market. Instead of a motion controller you get to put a scanner on top of your TV and then jump around like a jackass to play your game. I don't like it. This is not the product that I purchased. I purchased a console that let me relax with a game controller that can be as simple or complex as the game maker wants it to be, not a jackass scanner, which I might add has some insane delusion that I have friends. Remember how much fun it is to play Rockband with some friends? In my world I'm playing every game like that by myself, and anyone walking by my room gets the impression that I'm on drugs and/or that I think I'm 6 years old.

Plus, there's a lot of conversation going on, talking to the game, which, yeah, thanks again Microsoft for taking the product I purchased and turning it into something I can no long use.

Until these things see actual marketing there are some games that I'm still excited to play, like a new Left for Dead. I want them to make a Left for Dead for Haines where there's only a couple thousand zombies, all the survivors have weapons and wipe out the infection in one game session. I guess that's more of a DLC add on.

I haven't seen anything yet on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, which I'm dying to come out for all the different characters and costume changes if not for the actual game play. That's a game I'll probably preorder.

Anyway, this is my first post here. I still have time for a couple weeks until I have to start summer scool in Klukwan so I can still graduate in time. Maybe by the time I graduate this WoW patch will be downloaded. Anger!
